Horse trainers and riding instructors, Emily Bettinger and Tristan Scherzinger would like to welcome you to Golden Nugget Ranch, LLC. Please take a moment as we share with you the objectives for our horseback riding lessons and equine training program based in Selah, Washington. Simply put, Golden Nugget Ranch, LLC provides training for horses and riders. We teach horsemanship skills from daily care to properly riding a horse. As well as, training horses at all stages in life to perform safely whether it be in the show ring or simply out in the pasture. Specializing in training the all around performance or pleasure horse. Our training program is designed around producing horses that are safe and enjoy being ridden and/or shown. We like to work with the client to get the outcome they want with the horse. We accept all levels of horses including starting your youngster, changing disciplines, and just fine tuning your seasoned horse. We strive to bring out the natural talent your horse has and showcasing it in the best suited event. Lessons are customized based on riders and horses natural skills and level of experience. You do not have a horse, no problem. Ride our quality, beginner lesson horses gaining confidence and knowledge. In our riding program students learn all aspects of horses so that they can venture off on their own and have a safe, fun experience. We strive to provide a safe, fun, learning atmosphere for both horse and rider to grow confidence and knowledge. Golden Nugget Ranch, LLC is much more! As horse trainers, we are open minded. Continually, we take from new and old training methods, from all types of knowledgeable individuals. We find that this practice is most beneficial for horse and rider since we all learn a little differently. Students not only learn all aspects of horses but also take home skills they can use in daily life, such as: leadership, responsibility, and self-esteem to succeed in life. Tristan and Emily find it most rewarding to see horses and riders progress, reaching their goals we have made together. Tristan
Scherzinger was born in Central Point, Oregon
but later moved to Lopez Island, Washington. He learned how to ride
with some of the finest trainers in the Northwest. Successfully
competed locally and regionally in western all-around and gymkhana
events at APHA, AQHA, and 4-H horse shows. Tristan was very active
in 4-H, teaching the community about horses. He was awarded a
4-H scholarship to help with college funds. Tristan went to
Northwest College in Powell, Wyoming to receive an education in
Equine Riding and Training. During his years in college he was
active in the Horsemen's riding club. Out of college Tristan started
a business with Emily in Spokane, WA giving lessons, horse training
and farm sitting. While in Spokane, he worked for Scott Seeklander a
reined cow horse and reining horse trainer. He decided to move
to Selah, Washington to grow the business and build his own name as
a professional horse trainer.
Emily Bettinger was born and raised in Spokane, Washington. A family friend, Trish Stantus, shared with Emily her love and curiosity about horses. She trained under Sally Schiller and Fawn Schott learning how to ride and train horses for both pleasure and competition. Emily competed in state wide competition. She gave back to the community by becoming a 4-H leader to teach other horse crazy kids and mentor them at shows. She received a 4-H state scholarship to help fund her way to college. Emily attended Northwest College in Powell, Wyoming earning a degree in Equine Riding & Training. She moved back to Spokane where she started Golden Nugget Ranch, LLC with Tristan giving lessons, horse training and farm sitting. Emily has made the move to Selah, Washington to expand the business.
